In this study, we will have an assessment of a waste management project in El Eulma Municipality, focusing on its efficacy and relevance with the Algerian waste management strategy and with the problems and needs of the municipality. The research employs a multi-dimensional approach, integrating data from governmental reports, stakeholder interviews, and field observations to comprehensively evaluate the project's impact and identify areas for improvement. The study begins by analyzing El Eulma Municipality, considering factors such as population growth, urbanization trends, and existing infrastructure. Then the analyze of the waste management service and the challenges faced by the municipality before and after the private enterprise Ecoset It then examines the objectives, strategies, and outcomes of the “PEMLO” project, analyzing its effectiveness in waste reduction, environmental preservation, public health promotion, and community engagement. Findings reveal several noteworthy achievements of the project, including increased waste collection coverage, efficacy of workers and heightened awareness among residents about waste segregation and disposal practices. Moreover, the project has contributed to the reduction of environmental pollution, thereby fostering a cleaner living environment for the local populace. However, the evaluation also identifies certain shortcomings and challenges confronting the project implementation. Such as limited community participation in waste management initiatives. Furthermore, issues such as illegal dumping, littering, and informal waste picking persist, undermining the project's sustainability goals. In light of these findings, the thesis underscores the importance of ongoing evaluation, stakeholder collaboration, and adaptive management strategies to address the evolving needs and complexities of waste management in urban settings. It advocates for the integration of innovative technologies, community-based approaches, and policy interventions to enhance the efficacy, and resilience of waste management systems. By offering valuable insights and recommendations, this research aims to inform developing planning decisions, management action, more developed technologies and community actions towards achieving sustainable waste management practices in El Eulma Municipality and beyond.
